For those more interested in listening rather than playing music there is much to choose from in the city. Linköping has many famous big bands and a number of jazz bands which are some of the most famous in the country including Louise Hoffsten, Lars Winnerbäck and Dennis Östryd.
In addition are also many music groups and choirs, folk music and folk dance groups as well as wind orchestras active within the municipality.
Östgötamusiken hold between 400 and 500 concerts per year in Linköping and season tickets are available for Östgöta Wind Symphony and Linköping’s Symphony Orchestra as well as Norrköping Symphony Orchestra and visiting orchestras. Located between Linköping Konsert & Kongress and the county museum, Länsmuseet, is the outdoor stage “Tages Hörna” where during the summer months people can enjoy the entertainment that is available, often free of charge. Linköping’s concert hall is located literally next door to the museum which offers a rich programme for both young and old.
