Who is entitled to benefit?
The Social Welfare Act, 4th chapter, explains the conditions that govern the right to income support and other forms of benefit.
The social welfare committee assesses the right to income support based on national standards that apply to the whole country.
The national standard amount shall cover:
- food
- clothing/footwear
- leisure
- health/hygiene
- daily newspaper
- TV licence
- telephone
- consumer goods
- child insurance
The national standard amount = personal expenditure + shared household expenditure.
