Over the last few years Linköping has received a grant from the state to be used in raising the level of quality within the elderly care sector. A few examples of the projects funded within the municipality are:
Mini gym for assisted living accommodation. Four such accommodations have been provided with simple gymnastic equipment which should be used by the care receivers on a daily basis. Care personnel are on hand at certain times. Upper secondary school students are employed at weekends to assist the elderly.
Pedagogic meal served at a home for those suffering from dementia.
