For those who can no longer live at home Linköping’s municipality offers a choice of services including assisted living accommodation or care homes. Before being awarded special accommodation the individual must contact the department within the Social Services office responsible for elderly and handicapped care. They will carry out a needs assessment and make a decision. Both municipal and private companies are providers of special care homes.
