Linköping is Sweden's fifth largest city and growing, both geographically and in population. It is home to 142,000 inhabitants. We have a wealth of leisure activities and experiences for all ages. With a rich offering of art, theatre, history, concerts, markets, festivals and sporting events, Linköping is the place to be.
We're particularly proud of Old Linköping and the Valla recreational area, the Air Force Museum, the Cathedral, the Castle and Cathedral Museum and the Östergötland County Museum.
For all you art lovers, why not visit Konsthallen Passagen. Located in the central city, Passagen will take you right into the heart of the restaurant, entertainment and shopping district. There's something for everyone here: sample Swedish and international cuisine. Or if it's not time to eat yet, have a seat at an old-fashioned bakery or a trendy café and just have a snack.
Looking for some fun? There's a movie theatre, bar, theatre or nightclub just around the corner. If shopping is your cup of tea, stick to the three big squares. They boast everything from malls to small exclusive shops selling handicrafts, design, cheese, chocolate and jewellery. How about a visit to Sweden's second-largest shopping centre? Head on out to Tornby, just north of downtown. We dare say that you'll find - if not everything, then almost everything you can imagine shopping for.
You can't beat the excitement of a premier-league ice hockey game in the Cloetta Center. Or maybe a late summer evening on the stands watching a premier division football league game is more your style? Linköping has a proud sporting tradition and welcomes new fans in the bleachers!
The city and its environs offer all sorts of green landscapes to see and experience: The Garden Society, the Vallaskogen woods, the Tinnerö area with its oak woodland, Lakes Roxen, Rängen and Järnlunden, the Stångån River/Kinda Canal and the Göta Canal with the Berg locks. Discover these gems on foot, by bike or by boat!
We have everything you need to enjoy your stay! For more information please go to Visit Linköpings web.
